This is the Exquisite and Elegant Capiz Waterfall Rainbow Wind Chime by Woodstock Chimes!
A dramatic cascade offers a rainbow of color. Capiz are farmed in Indonesia and every bit is used. The pieces are carefully sorted, dried, sliced, shaped, sanded and dyed. Strung together with strong, invisible, nylon cord, the thin, flat translucent pieces provide luminous color. In the 1500s, capiz were used as windowpanes in houses; now they are used in all sorts of home decorations, including lamp shades and vases and (of course) windchimes! This wonderful capiz chime was hand-crafted with pride by craftsmen of Bali. In 1979, Grammy Award-winning musician and instrument designer Garry Kvistad created the first Woodstock Chime from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. Fascinated by the Scale of Olympos, a 7th century pentatonic scale that can’t be played on a modern piano, Garry cut and tuned the lawn chair tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale.
