his listing is for a very old clarinet mouthpiece. I would guess that it was made in the late 19th century, or very early 20th century. It is made of wood. There is no brand name, nor any other markings on it.
This mouthpiece is slightly smaller than a modern Bb clarinet mouthpiece (see last picture for a comparison). It MIGHT be for a key of C clarinet, but it doesn't seem quite that small to me. Maybe it was smaller because it was for a high pitch instrument, or maybe they just made them smaller back then. Honestly, I just don't know. The total length is 83.3mm.
Another interesting this about this mouthpiece is that it is designed to have the cork go to the very end of the shank. At first I thought maybe the shank had been shortened, but now I don't think so because the total shank length is the same as a modern mouthpiece.
This mouthpiece is in overall good condition. There are no cracks. The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth. There are some tooth gouges on the beak though.
This is probably more of a collector's item/curiosity piece than a useful player. Then again, it might be fun to experiment with a for a unique sound.
