The butterfly wings are disassembled and laminated before embedding into the material so as to retain 100% of the original color(colors of butterfly are mostly powder particles attached to the wings), otherwise up to 90% of the color will be dissolved into the Lucite material after production and the wings become almost transparent.
Length of the Butterfly body is 2.4 cm(0.9 inch) and the wings stretch to 6.4 cm(2.5 inch).
Size of the lucite block is 8.2x8.2x1.7 cm (3.2x3.2x0.7 inch).
Each one comes with a cardboard box for easy storage.
Weight of the block is 120 g and 150 g with packing box.
This is a handmade real animal specimen craft. Each one will be a bit different (specimen size, color and posture) even in the same production batch.
The picture in the listing is just for reference as we are selling multiple pieces with same picture.

Like a beautiful sunset, the orange albatross butterfly, also known as the appias nero figulina, is the only species of butterfly in the world that is entirely orange in color.
Males and females are similar, but with one exception, the females have a black border and black veining running throughout their fore wings and hind wings they have much less boldness in their coloring than the males.
