The INDIANA JONES OF EBAY does it again !!...........I have managed to  purchase  THREE militaria collections.....&  TWO Police collections.....mainly patches, badges, insignia & headgear.
One of the main collection of patches & insignia, is a real treasure trove......I showed samples from it to one dealer who wanted to buy the entire collection...but I would rather let YOU the collectors have a chance than him  obtain them solely for profit.
please note for clarity of item , ease of listing and your perusal of my auction items. These ALL came from an Important retired Police Officer, and were mounted at one time or another, some had their lugs/fixing pins removed.I am listing them as I recieved them , and some might merit a 'clean' for the brightness of the chrome to shine through.. or if you wish to improve on their appearance.
This is a spledid discovery AND COMPLIES COMPLETELY  with Ebay policies.
for those that cannot read , or indeed understand this. I will try to explain  .If not - Morons please do not bid.
this is for COLLECTION purposes only.
These are all hat badges and helmet plates. Most of the forces are now defunct, or they have not used this style for several years or have ammalgamated with other Counties, Shires Towns , Cities, Boroughs and Police Forces . .
These items are sold as a collectible item only.
Note to eBay and those individuals who take an interest in enforcing listing policies.
This is an obsolete helmet plate  which is many years old. It bears no resemblance to any currently issued  item and in many cases the Force has amalgamated a number of times, creating  newer different badges  and conveys no authority or powers
This is a   plate is  an early WEST MIDLANDS POLICE Warrant badge

On July 10, 1964, the Home Secretary,
    Henry Brooke
, announced he would be using his powers under the Act to amalgamate the county borough forces of Luton and Northampton with the county forces of Bedfordshire and Northamponshire respectively.
Luton's force had only been formed on April 1, when it became a county borough, but Mr Brooke said he did not regard the continuance of its existence as in the best interests of policing efficiency. The amalgamations were vigorously, but unsuccessfully, opposed by the boroughs: Luton's campaign went as far as serving a High Court writ on the Home Secretary in an attempt to stop the merger.
In the meantime, the first amalgamation under the Act took place on April 1, 1965 as the result of local government reorganisation, with the formation of the
    Mid Anglia Constabulary
    .
Following a change in government at the
    general election
    ,
    Frank Soskice
became Home Secretary. In 1965 he announced that Exeter City's force would be merged with that of Devon. In addition to the Bedfordshire/Luton, Devon/Exeter, and Northamptonshire/Northampton mergers, 1966 saw the establishment of a new West Midlands Constabulary covering the county boroughs of
    Dudley
    ,
    Walsall
    ,
    Warley
    ,
    West Bromwich
    and
    Wolverhampton
, which had been constituted or enlarged by local government reorganisation.
    1966 amalgamation scheme
On May 16, 1966, the new
    Home Secretary
    ,
    Roy Jenkins
announced that the number of police forces in
    England
    and
    Wales
was to be reduced from 117 to 49. Where the local authorities concerned did not agree a voluntary scheme he would make a compulsory amalgamation.
    Proposed amalgamations
Lancashire County Constabulary to merge with borough police forces of Barrow-in-Furness, Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton, Burnley, Oldham, Rochdale, St Helens, Southport, Warrington and Wigan
