Actias luna, (Luna Moth) Dome

Description

This is a custom made item featuring a male and female pair of Luna Moths and this is my most popular dome.  The male is the top specimen and is easily determined by the larger feathery antennae compared to the
female's.
The specimens pictured are the summer form which is often larger and more yellow green compared to the spring form as pictured in the 4.5x6 inch dome category.  Spring form males often have a lovely maroon/red border along the outed edges of the wings.  You may receive either spring or summer form depending on what I have available on stock.   I rear these moths from eggs from a captive stock, but I also release many dozens of pairs into the wild each season.
The moths are perfect in every detail and are mounted on real driftwood.  Each dome is a "one of a kind" due to differences in the driftwood.  The dome is mounted on a 7 inch wide walnut base. The dome itself is 5.5 inches wide and 10 inches high.  Each dome comes with a colored brochure describing the natural history of the moth.  Under the bottom of each dome is a label detailing the date and origin of the moths in that particular dome
