Never paint anodes
Anodes should be checked and cleaned frequently - a dirty anode is not protecting your outdrive
Anodes should be replaced once they have dissolved 25% to 50%
Installation of a Mercathode system can prolong the life of your anodes
Boats connected to shore power should also have a galvanic isolator installed
