Description
Vehicle DetailsThis is a 1986 Ford Econoline Club Wagon XL with a 5.8 engine and a 3 speed automatic transmission. It has 52997. on the odometer but I'm pretty sure that the odometer has rolled over. The engine starts right up and does not smoke, rattle or knock. I have not tagged the van or had it legally on the road but I did drive it down a side road by my home and the transmission shifted smooth and with no hesitations and handled great. I listed this as a PROJECT because not having it on the road I have no idea of what it may need to be road worthy. It looks to have a newer starter and alternator on it. The A/C has no belt but seems to be all there and would probably need a belt and a charge at the very least. It has the 8 lug front hubs and rear axle with 16" tires and wheels. I have three of the original hubcaps but one is missing and they are not shown in pics. It has been hit on the left rear corner but there is no hole or split in the metal that I can see and should be easily fixed or replaced. I believe that it would be an easy fix for a body man but I found a patch panel on ebay for under if one wanted to replace it.Link to part: https://www.ebay.com/itm/192648339825?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 It has surface rust on the bottom lip of the right rear door but is solid and not rusted through. It also has rusted through on the bottom of the sliding side door but is a smooth panel and should be easily fixed by a good body man also. Other than those things the body on this van is solid. The frame is solid with only surface rust. The roof is pretty straight and rust free but the drip rail would need to be seam sealed soon. I believe that this van still has the original paint. I see no signs of repairs or repainting. What you see is what you get. The interior is ruff as far as the rear seats go... mainly the bottoms of the seat where you sit. The carpet is in fairly good condition with no holes and just a few stains. The front seats look to have been replaced but still they do have wear. The very rear seat is missing and the seatbelts for it are missing. The headliner is still solid and all there. The whole van could use a good cleaning. The tires are almost bald and have different treads on each but surprisingly "do" hold air and don't leak down... I don't think that any of the tires match. The windshield has one crack in the center that runs straight from the top to the bottom but is typical for these vans. All windows work as they should but the front windows rattle in the door because they need new window channels. I have described this van the best I can but any questions please ask. They say a picture is worth a thousand words but I don't believe that anything compares to actually seeing the item so I invite all serious bidders to come take a look or if you know somebody in this area that you could send to look at it then that's fine also. I will also be glad to send more pictures through e-mail if desired, just let me know. These older vans without all the sensors are getting harder to find in any condition. This vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. A 0.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction ending. Balance due within 7 days of auction ending. Buyer responsible for shipping and or picking up vehicle within that same 7 days unless other arrangements are made with the seller. I have a clean S.C. title in hand. I bought this van from a guy that had it parked in his back yard. It had been there for a while so I stopped to enquire. He stated that it was previously his mothers church van and that he had bought it to carry his roofing crew to and from the job but had since gotten a job as a foreman for a big roofing company so he stopped doing roofs for himself and parked the van. He also said that it had been parked for over 3 years and that it was in cherry condition when he got it but that his crew was hard on it. Even though it had been parked for a while when jumped off it started right up and starts every time. Being the van has set for so long and needs tires I would suggest that it be transported to it's new location. Thanks for looking and good luck.
