    Description

    Description
150 sheets of old 16x20 inch 1-ply 100% rag barrier paper / museum board
. No packaging/unknown brand. Probably dates to the 1980s. The paper is off-white (ivory or cream) in color (see the last photo to see how the paper's color compares to bright white notebook paper). Each sheet is about 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) thick—very thick paper or very thin museum board.
This paper is unused but it has been in storage for 30+ years. While the paper surfaces are bright and clean, the paper has these notable flaws:
There are light blemishes or small foxing (rust colored) spots on the edges of some sheets. The foxing spots might encroach ~1/32" into the page, but generally they're limited to the edge.
On some sheets there might be small corner dings.
    See the photos.
    About barrier paper in general
: As I understand it, barrier paper was originally used in matting and framing, specifically to provide a barrier between a photograph and an acidic mat board. With the increasing popularity of acid-free mat boards, barrier paper is not used as frequently for its original purpose. But because of its composition and slightly textured surface, rag barrier paper is very versatile and is also suitable for artistic applications such as drawing, lithography, pastels, etc.
Disclaimer about the paper in this auction
: Whether you wish to use the paper for a functional purpose or an artistic endeavor, by bidding you acknowledge that the paper is flawed and that I offer no guarantee about its archival properties or suitability for any application.
Note: I'm also selling a smaller batch of barrier paper (50 sheets) in more flawed condition, priced accordingly (see my other auctions).
